Did you know that?
- The difference between good ear wire and bad ear wire (the ones that cause allergy) is 0.005 USD. Many companies in Bali just don’t know about that and let their supplier make the profit.
- If you mix different colors of marble stone jewelry in the same plastic, it might "fade" if not dried enough and the colors will melt. At the end if you mix cream and black stones for example you might get cream pendants with ugly black stain.
- If not checked – most of the supplier in Bali deliver elastic bracelets too big and the necklaces are too shorts.
- Same for the sandals: the sizes can be a real problem. Most of the suppliers in here deliver Indonesian sizes which is 1 to 2 sizes smaller than most western sizes.
- To be able to put down the prices, the silver used is very light. So light that you don’t even realize it is silver and you might not be able to sell it.
- To not use the "Made in Indonesia" labels will give you serious problems with the customs and cost you a lot of money.
- Same kind of troubles with the customs if you mention on the invoice "Shell", "Bone", "Coral" or other controlled species for import.

- In contrary if you put too many items in the same boxes you might get deformed or broken products.
- If the standard carton box is used and full of beaded jewelry, the box might brake. The maximum weight of these boxes is 35 Kgs.
- If not specific and strict enough about the colors you might get for example brown bags with black handles, or ugly light green beads instead of nice antique green (we call antique when the beads are burned a little bit to give an antique effect).
- Some "companies" just have 1 camera and 1 computer with Internet connection. In this case they don’t keep the original sample with them and might order those products with other supplier just by giving the picture. Those supplier will use cheap raw of material to save money. (Cheated by the supplier, the agent company might not even realize that because they don’t have the original sample).
- Finally a few websites just don’t send the order. (We have report of customers being cheated by a couple of websites and cannot do nothing).
This is just a few points (we don’t want to help our competitors too much ;-) ) that we get from our experience.
There are thousands of websites in Bali but only a few of them are good and aware of those points. You should make sure you order with one of them. Check the "Contact Us" and "About us" page … make phone calls, ask for references and why not come in here to visit them …
